Cooking from my stockpile

We are getting COLD temps for the next few days here in NE GA, so earlier this week I moved a frozen turkey from my deep freeze to the fridge after seeing the extended forecast, to let it thaw for cooking. I am trying to rotate out my deep freezer in anticipation of holiday turkey deals. The thawed out turkey has been cooking thru the day which has helped to warm the house. I am also cooking carrot raisin bread (from the recent Betty Crocker catalina sale at Kroger--using carrot cake mix), and I'm cooking up Betty Crocker potatoes. I made Pillsbury biscuits this AM leftover from the Publix coupon sale. :)

****This bird  I stuffed with carrots (Kroger 10/$10 sale), Rosemary (.25 at Kroger on manager special that I stuck in the freezer for such an occasion), celery, dried cranberries (from a Kroger manager special that were in my stockpile), and I rubbed the bird down with butter prior to bagging (from a Reynold's oven bag deal.) If I can find some good deals on Turkey over this holiday season (hopefully good like last year's Publix deals) I will probably freeze a bunch of turkeys and maybe cook one pr week or so to let the meat last. I am not a huge meat eater, but I do get $5 rotisserie chickens from Costco and ground turkey from Kroger thru the year, and during the cold winter months I like to do a lot of baking and crock pot type cooking--that's when we start eating stews etc. I eat a lot of eggs so that is another way I get my protein. Lately I've been eating a lot of scrambled eggs with tortilla chips and salsa, and making my own breakfast sandwiches with english muffins and Kraft singles. Let's all hope for some good holiday turkey deals! :)
