So today, since miraculously we weren't doing anything (I skipped the $1 movies I have tickets for ugh), I went to Target ALONE sans children to check out what toys they had 70% off. The stuff wasn't really marked -- some items scanned but weren't tagged. They were also mixed in with the regular toys unlike previous years where they had separate clearance sections. They were still in the process of tagging and marking things down I just had to look pretty much everywhere to find anything. (You have to allow enough time for them to mark everything down.) There was another lady there with her cart full of dolls and princess type stuff so I missed out on those deals. I started in the boy's section. I ended up being conservative with my purchases (broke right now) but I still managed to get a couple of things put away for Xmas. What was funny was after my friend met me and we took our time browsing, there was a lady there with her husband and 4 carts piled HIGH with everything that kept falling on the floor everywhere--she literally wiped out sections we hadn't even gotten to yet. She definitely will make somebody happy lol. We left and went to another store to see if there were any dolls left (nope not a single one) and at the 2nd store we ran into someone from the first store who told us that the woman with the 4 carts piled high couldn't even fit everything in her car lol. Wish I had seen that one. It seemed more frenzied at the 2nd store. I have to laugh because I was picturing supermarket sweep in my mind but everybody was pretty calm and tame lol. It's a trip how all of the good stuff is gone with a snap of the fingers and this year I really wasn't all that impressed with the toys that were 70%. They always have some creepy science experiment project toys 70% because nobody wants them lol. They also had a lot of items for babies and we are past that stage at this point. I did find some Aqua Doodle pens which I am very excited about and I got a couple of free PaperMate pens with the $1 Target coupons.
