My daughter's bday is tomorrow and she wanted me to bring cupcakes to her classroom which is large so I needed 24 cupcakes. I decided to make them myself because not only do I have lots of stockpiled cake mix from all of the fab BOGO sales at Publix (and .35/1 coupons), but I about fell over when I saw that 24 cupcakes were $17 at Kroger. I refuse to pay that much when I can make them for less than that. For this batch I wound up using V-day cupcake liners that I got on clearance at Target (last year) for .20 cents, and I still have plenty left over for another batch of cupcakes. Nobody cares or noticed lol. I used Duncan Hines cake mix (confetti and velvet on top swirled) that I got with coupons on a bogo sale at Publix so I saved a huge chunck of change there. I was using 5/$30s at the time so I prob got it all for free lol. The eggs I got free from peelies of free eggs wyb Grands biscuits (which are 10/$10 at Kroger right now and I used coupons on the biscuits so those were free.) I used the clearance Pillsbury V-day frosting I recently blogged about. DH bought the sprinkles this morning (LOL) b/c I couldn't find mine and I think they were tossed in the move. The cupcake rings I bought off of ebay using money from selling things on ebay. (Oh side note, the Elmo cupcakes I did 2 years ago I got the ingredients all free lol b/c of that fun Knox gelatin coupon that was out--remember that one? I miss that coupon!)
