Where were you on 9/11? I was actually at work in San Diego reporting the traffic and weather (started at 5am Pacific Time) and we watched the 2nd plane fly into the Trade Towers live on tv. Later that morning they closed all of the federal buildings in the SD area and the military bases were on lock-down. They also closed the US border for a while. (I didn't do any air checks that day because it was crazy.)
Then I went into the travel agency which I worked at in-between my am/pm split shift on the radio (which was closed because nobody was buying plane tickets with planes flying into buildings.) That large call-center actually closed a few months following the events of 9-11 and now that agency has been outsourced to India.
Did 9-11 effect me personally? Yes. Many of my friends and I lost our jobs (travel agency) following the events of that day. Turns out that I had a cousin I didn't know parish in the World Trade towers. And then my husband deployed to Iraq as did other friends of ours. This pic was taken sometime in 2002 before he deployed.
This post is to honor all of those who were somehow affected that day. Let us never forget. GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
