My next giveaway! YEAH! Enter to win an assortment of Children's Books from Cheerios and a $25 Barnes & Nobel Gift Card WOW!!!!

This giveaway thanks to General Mills, Cheerios and MyBlogSparkTM, is a great opportunity to help distribute 100,000 books to children in need across the country by participating in the Cheerios 100,000 Book Giveaway!

Access to books is essential to reading development, and unfortunately over 80% of daycare centers serving low income kids lack age appropriate books. Luckily the Cheerios family of cereals including First Book, Jon Scieszka the author of the popular “Trucktown” series etc. have joined together to deliver 100,000 books to community-based programs serving children in need!!!! Cool, right?!

Well I excited to be able to give away (thanks again to General Mills, Cheerios and MyBlogSparkTM) a $25 Barnes & Nobel gift card plus an awesome assortment of children's books! Cool huh. To enter, log on to www.FirstBook.org/Scieszka, take the trivia quiz, and then cast your vote for which state you think deserves 20,000 books for kids in need. Then come back here and comment your info plus why you think your state deserves the books. I'll announce the winner on Saturday Nov 28th @ 5pm EST! Good luck!

I got 29 out of 50 questions right for Georgia. Pretty good since I haven't read ANY of the books featured.
Georgia definitely can use all the help it can get.

Wow that was a long one but really cute. I picked Florida. Florida's literacy rates are really low and my daughter goes to school here. We need all the books we can get!

I voted for my state of Oklahoma (which is currently winning--YAY) because the schools around my area are so desperate for money that they are thinking of taking away textbooks and going to a cheaper way. EEKS, how can a school teach without textbooks or books in general??!!

My state could always use books. Maybe not as much as others but who really knows which state needs them the most. Thanks. Karen.

Florida can use the books. Many children in Florida have reading problems and the more books we have for children to read, the better their reading gets along with their writing.

That quiz is addictive! I wanted to keep going until they made me stop, to get more votes for WV, which is currently in 3rd place. But it didn't end! WV is always dead last or 2nd to dead last (with Mississippi) on performance w/ education. The best answer would be a total overhaul of the public school system, but short of that, I'm sure that thousands of donated books can do a lot of good.

Thanks for the chance to win the GC and books.
