Today's Publix Penny Item Challenge LOL!

Okay, so every Monday I always make a Publix run to try and get at least $10 in free groceries so I can also get the penny item free. The penny item this week is Publix apple juice, so I had to get it. Some weeks I'm just not interested in the penny item, but that is on rare occasions. I am really trying to avoid getting too much junk food even if it's free.

Anyhoo, it is usually very easy for me to come up with $10 in free after coupon shopping because of all the free coupons we couponers get in the mail. This week I knew I could cheat and get a few extras, because I returned my 4 packages of Nestle cookie dough that were recalled after the e-coli scare. (We actually did eat some of 1 of the packages in early June and got sick, but didn't know why until recently.) I was honest w/ the customer service people in that I had purchased them in a bogo sale, (even though I only paid .40 cents for them but the coupons count as $) so they gave me $5.96 on a giftcard.

These groceries were all FREE after the $5.96 giftcard, so essentially I paid $1.60 for all of this (since I originally paid .40 cents each for the cookie doughs which I returned.)

Here's my coupon breakdown:

12 Ziplocks $1.99 each (free after 1/1 target ip and 1/1 publix coupon from Smart Sumertime Savings booklet.)

4 Raids 3.89 each (free after 2/2 mf and 2/2 publix q from Sumertime Savings and All American Savings booklets.)

1 Jenny O ground turkey $5.99 (so $1 after 5/1 mailer from biggest loser)

6 Philly cream cheeses (.16 cents each after 6 x 1/1 from wine booket and 3 1/2 from Summertime Savings Publix Booklet) (am making cheesecake)

2 Digiornos 2.50 (free after coupons sent to us in the mail from promotion)

Publix apple juice .01 (saved 2.48 penny item coupon)

Fresh Express salad mix 2.99 (saved $1 from kroger coupon expires today and 1/1 from Summertime Savings booklet)

Potatoes $2.49 (saved $2/5 produce using FLIP)

***Inside the ziplock snack bags there are 1/1 any honeynut cheerios!! WOO HOO! Those can be used on the 10/10 cheerio bowls for free cheerios!

***The only reason everything on here wasn't completely free, is b/c I don't get 5/30 or 10/50 competitor coupons in my area. That's why I don't feel guilty using Target ips, because they're both essentially the same.
