Publix has changed the penny item to Thursdays (or Wednesdays if your new sales cycle starts on that day) and in the actual NEWSPAPER (not the sales ad) is the penny item coupon. It's quite large but I missed it earlier UGH. It is not in the Publix Ad anymore. I asked the manager where the penny item coupon was in the paper because I couldn't find it in my paper, and after digging around for it he finally found it (in the AJC.) He
would not let me get the penny item without my coupon! There were several bags of Publix tortilla chips (this week's penny item) left at the check-out area because other people obviously weren't able to get it either. I wish they wouldn't hide it in the paper. I just found it in the text of my paper AFTER I got home--but I'm not about to load up my kids and drive in the snow just for a stupid bag of tortilla chips. Oh--I can't go out anyway because it's snowing and my husband took my car with the carseats in it!!!! Okay so anyway I'm just venting because my local store doesn't accept any competitor coupons except for FLIPS (I can't use Target coupons there) so I may be saying adios to that store all together. I did get all of this for $1.52 plus tax (I saved $77.79--not like I would EVER pay that for this stuff LOL!) but no penny item. I also think this new policy is unfair to people who can't afford to buy/subscribe to the paper because that means the penny item coupon is simply unavailable to them. (Also pictured is the free Quick Trip salad I got today with my coupon!)
